July 9, 2020, 12:00 am - New Just in Time Instruction for K2 and 3+ Students with Experience Points

As K-2 and Grades 3-12 students work in Typing Agent, let our Experience Points open curriculums - Targeted Practices, Type Your Own Adventure, Basic and Advanced Code, Agent Challenge and Notepad - at just the right time. With our gamified activities, we know students have fun as they learn! Should they want an extra special treat to play multiplayer and solo games, they must now earn Experience Points to enter our Game arcade. As any good program is flexible, we have made it where teachers and administrators may override our default settings. (Gritcoins are still there for those who want to use those instead.) February 13, 2020, 2:00 pm - Improved Navigation for K2 Students

Students now have the option of clicking "Return Home", "Redo Lesson" or "Next Lesson" to navigate through their K2 keyboarding activities. We use the pictographs below to help non-readers use these navigational tools.

January 16, 2020, 12:00 am - Detailed Reporting Descriptions

Now, when using the Select Report drop down menu. Teachers, school admins and district admins will now be provided with a detailed description of each report including the metrics measured for each report.

January 6, 2020, 12:00 am - New Way for Teachers to Add Students to their Classroom

Teachers can now add a student or students to their classroom in a more intuitive way. Just click the green +Students button at the top of your Classroom dashboard and select the option you wish you use to add your student(s).

*Please note this feature cannot be used if your district is rostering with Clever or ClassLink

November 14, 2019, 12:00 am - Active Student Curriculum Report

The Active Student Curriculum report can be found on the dashboard under More Reports or in the class under Reports

The report will show which curriculum the students have unlocked and how many lessons completed when you hover over the icons of the different curriculum icons.

• Unlocked curriculum is in green and locked is in gray

• Grade level, total time, and last login are also displayed in the report

November 1, 2019, 10:00 am - Final Evaluation & Final Evaluation Report

The Final Evaluation found at the end of Foundations 3+, is a test that educators can use as a requirement to pass a class or as a gauge to see how far students have come in their keyboarding skills.

• Students can be take the evaluation multiple times, but only the best score will be recorded as the final score.

• A random text will be chosen each time from the 10 amendments in the Bill of Rights in order to prevent memorizing one particular test.

• Students will have 2 minutes to type the text.

The final evaluation goal is based on the student’s three star typing targets. The goal is not required to get a score, but used as a baseline to encourage students to meet the highest standards set for that student.

July 9, 2019, 12:00 am - Spy Mode Lessons

Are you aiming for your students to more intuitively grasp the keyboard by means of muscle memory? We now have Spy Mode Lessons! Spy Mode Lessons will begin in World 12 in the Keyboarding Foundation 3+ Curriculum. The program automatically hides the keyboard and hands and intuitively analyzes (or spies as Secret Agent’s like to call it) on the student while they type and as soon as an incorrect letter is pressed up pops the hands and keyboard to remind them of the key location and proper finger placement. Spy lessons will also offer longer content to type. These lessons will be edited over the next few weeks to make them unique per grade level. Your students will more quickly grasp the concept of typing without looking with these new exciting spy mode lessons.

Big news! We’ve added Google Classroom into Typing Agent as a method of rostering students. As a school administrator or teacher, create a new class from your dashboard. Select “Import Class From Google” to toggle this feature.

July 8, 2019, 12:00 am - Reset Individual Student Progress

As a Teacher if you have ever needed to reset your students’ progress back to the beginning, we have now created a way for you to do that. Select your student, then from the fly-out menu, select “Edit Student.” You’ll now see an option to Reset the Student Progress. Please be aware that this will delete all of the students lessons and placement test and they will be asked to retake the placement test and start the program from the very beginning with no lessons completed.

May 10, 2019, 10:00 am - Typing Streaks

In order to be successful at keyboarding, students need to consistently be practicing their skills and so let’s gamify this in a similar way….introducing Typing Streaks!

Typing Streaks is a fun way for students to challenge themselves to keep practicing their typing skills regularly inside of Typing Agent. Every time a student logs in and types a lesson or test Typing Streaks adds 1 point to their Typing Streak score and their number keeps building. Don’t let too much time pass without doing your lessons or your score will go back to 0. If a student goes 72 hours or more without typing a lesson or test, Typing Streaks will automatically reset the number back to 0. Oh no!

Students can find their Typing Streak score at the top of their student interface with a flame emoji and a number. Now, let’s hone those typing skills!

January 3, 2020, 11:00 am - Updated Navigation for Vewing Student Progress

Teachers can now view Student Progress easily by clicking directly on the student name in the student roster list, instead of first clicking on the checkbox next to the student and then having to use the fly-out menu to choose the view progress option. This will be a faster and more intuitive process for you. See the screen capture for details.

July 15, 2019, 12:00 am - Progress Report Update

The Progress Reporting section has an all-new look!

Under Analytics > Progress Report, you’ll find that the symbols alongside lessons are all now displayed as stars to denote how many stars a student has received on the assignment Additionally, teachers and school admins now have the ability to access a “Summary” or “Detailed Report”. “Summary” gives the unit-by-unit overview of each lesson, similar to what the layout looked like in Typing Agent Classic. “Detailed Report” gives an overview of each student’s average progress through the curriculum, noting also average accuracy, WPM, and letter grade.The black columns will tell you the average words per minute and accuracy through the entire curriculum. You can additionally click the student name to view this on an individual student page, seeing the words per minute, accuracy, and letter grade of that particular student.You’ll also notice stars populating the report brackets with the corresponding number of stars. This is to denote how many stars the student has received on that particular lesson. Gold = 3 stars, Silver = 2 stars, Bronze = 1 star, Green = In Progress. To make matters even better, this report is now downloadable to print!

Students can now view from their curriculum how many lessons are in any particular world or unit. This will make it easier for goals to be set, as a student can also see how many they have completed in the following format: Completed/Total

Teachers can now view the Digital Citizenship curriculum to preview videos and see the quiz answer key

Select a student from your roster, then from the right side fly out menu, select “Curriculum”. In the “Digital Citizenship” square, click the folder icon. You will be able to view the Digital Citizenship videos, curriculum, and quiz answer key by navigating through and clicking on your lessons of choice.
